63天，《傲慢與偏見》女主伊麗莎白夸贊賓利“內外皆優”！

這是第63天閱讀英文版《傲慢與偏見》英文版。
上篇筆記講到“她“夸賓利是個“好青年“，當時我還糾結“她“是誰，現在看來是簡。
我本來認為是簡，可是我把整段文字交給工具問是誰講的，答復是“貝內特太太”，這下把我弄懵了，因此，上篇筆記我用了“她”來模糊其詞，實際上應該直接給出“簡夸贊賓利”。
“He is also handsome,” replied Elizabeth, “which a young man ought likewise to be, if he possibly can. His character is thereby complete.”
“他還很帥”，伊麗莎白回應，“要是可能的話，年輕男士應該是這樣。他的特質因此是完整的。”

有幾個詞匯我給出簡潔注釋，盡管有的不是生詞：
1. handsome
詞性：形容詞
含義：英俊的；帥氣的
用法：形容賓利的外貌。
2. likewise
這個詞對我來說是生詞。
詞性：副詞
含義：同樣地；也
用法：“ought likewise to be”，表示“同樣應該具備”。
我補充3個例句，體會“likewise”的用法：

3. character
詞性：名詞
含義：性格；特質
用法：“His character”，他的特質。
我補充幾個例句，體會“character”的用法：
I'm a pretty good judge of character.
我非常善于判別性格。
He's no longer a depressive character.
他不再是一個抑郁的人物。
Anger at injustice formed his character.
對不公正行為的憤怒塑造了他的性格。
Generosity is part of the American character.

4. thereby complete
詞性：副詞+形容詞（短語）
含義：因此完整的
用法：“is thereby complete”，因此“趨于完美”。
我補充3個權威例句，提升一點句子的難度和實景運用，體會“thereby”的用法：
Cryptic thereby defies a troubling trend: Internet games, first ballyhooed as the next big thing, have struggled.
因此，Cryptic 公司打破了一個令人不安的趨勢：曾被大肆宣揚為下一個重大事物的網絡游戲，如今發展艱難。

3. “His character is thereby complete.”

這個小說讀著讀著有意思起來了，就像很小的時候，在舅舅屋里找到一本繁體字的《三國演義》隔二片三似懂非懂地看得很投入。
我補充的例句很實用，都是來自英文世界的權威規范文本，可以一個句子一個句子的慢慢積累，熟悉的例句量大了，對英文水平的提高應該有益的。
讀英文版《傲慢與偏見》對我來說是個慢功夫，我每天只能是一點一點的啃一段文字，螞蟻啃骨頭一樣的朝前挪步。
因為這樣細嚼慢咽的慢讀，我覺得閱讀的感覺舒適，沒有那種倉促糊弄感，我的英文水平實際上很不足，這樣的慢讀細讀適合我。
