IT之家 2 月 20 日消息，Messenger 是 Meta 社交媒體“帝國”的一部分，聚焦于即時消息類服務。Meta 此前在去年底“砍掉”了 Windows 和 macOS 上的桌面版 Messenger 應用程序，削減了在桌面端使用 Messenger 的方式。
而在最近，Meta 進一步宣布將在 2026 年 4 月關閉 Messenger.com 網頁，此后用戶將僅可通過 Messenger 的移動端應用或者 Facebook 渠道使用 Messenger 服務。

IT之家了解到，Messenger 本是 Facebook 的一部分，其前身 Facebook Chat 誕生于 2008 年。在 2014 年 Facebook 決定取消本體移動應用的消息功能，引導用戶使用 Messenger；不過在 2023 年 Facebook 移動應用又重新整合了 Messenger 功能。
