Editor's Note:In November 2026, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Informal Meeting will be held in Shenzhen. New Zealand is an important member of APEC. In early 2026, Zhang Donggang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China, led a delegation to New Zealand, injecting new momentum into deepening educational and think tank cooperation between the two countries. On April 9, the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China and School of Global Leadership invited Dr. Jonathan Austin, the New Zealand Ambassador to China, to the Ambassador Forum. He shared insights on the topic "New Zealand and China: Relations in a Changing World" and engaged in interactive exchanges with the guests present. In the months prior, ambassadors from APEC member countries such as Japan, Russia, Singapore, and Vietnam had also been invited to the Ambassador Forum.
