A survey of 1,679 young Chinese by China Youth Daily shows over 84% favor New Year goods with “Guofeng (a kind of traditional Chinese cultural style)” and other traditional cultural elements, nearly 60% care about their cultural connotations. Young people opt for trendy goods like pixel art cultural creations, “Guofeng” clothing and digital collectibles. They also love DIY festive items and immersive lantern show experiences. Overseas students even innovate Lunar New Year customs with foreign friends, making New Year goods a carrier of cultural inheritance, self-expression and emotional connection.
