第五屆全民閱讀大會2026年4月20日在江西南昌開幕，首個全國“全民閱讀活動周”啟動。

2026年2月，我國首部《全民閱讀促進條例》正式施行，將每年4月第四周確立為“全民閱讀活動周”。首個“全民閱讀活動周”于2026年4月20日至26日開展，活動主題為“共促全民閱讀，共建書香社會”。
活動期間的安排包括：舉辦第五屆全民閱讀大會、深化《全民閱讀促進條例》宣傳、開展主題閱讀活動、組織青少年閱讀活動、加強分眾化閱讀引導和服務、開展便民惠民閱讀活動、培育鞏固“書香中國”活動品牌、加大宣傳報道力度。

要建設全民終身學習的學習型社會、學習型大國，促進人人皆學、處處能學、時時可學，不斷提高國民受教育程度，全面提升人力資源開發水平，促進人的全面發展。
